Ultrasound

This therapy should not be confused with diagnostic ultrasound used in prenatal or other diagnostic screenings. We use a therapeutic ultrasound which uses a different frequency soundwave that can treat injured muscles, joints, and soft tissues.

The sound waves vibrate the tissues creating a deep, micro-massage effect. In the case of a recent injury, this helps reduce the formation of scar tissue and adhesion formation which would otherwise interfere with the body's healing.

The sound waves decrease inflammation by painlessly destroying unwanted inflammatory cells. They also stimulate the activity of the cells responsible for cellular tissue repair. In chronic cases, special settings are used to create a deep-heating effect below the skin's surface. This heat, along with the vibrations of ultrasound help "melt away" muscle spasms and knots.
